What men think of your underwear

Ever wonder what men really think of your underwear? Does it matter to them what kind of surprises you keep in your knickers drawer, or is pointless to be so concerned when the underwear comes right off anyway?

To resolve this great curiosity, we did a straw poll on a few friendly men* and got a feel of which kinds of underwear you should definitely keep, and which ones you should burn. Right away. Here’s what we found out.

Keeper number 1: The Great Thong

Jonas, 26, thinks that that thong is the greatest underwear ever designed, and says it is sexy on “women with tight bums that have very round cheeks.” All the fellas in our survey agree. But would this type of underwear also look good on women who need work on their bums? His answer was, well, a metaphor. “No. The thong would look like a small rubber band around a big chunk of uncooked ham.” There you go.

Keeper Number 2: Hipsters

The next time you buy underwear, you might want to grab one of those seventies hipsters. The guys concur that they're stylish and that any woman – even those not blessed with very long slimline limbs – can look sexy in this underwear. This Playboy-pin-up look is great on well-toned ladies.

Keeper Number 3: Matching underwear

Yes, men notice it when your underwear is not coordinated. It doesn’t matter if you’re just wearing white cotton sensible panties, as long as they match. Jason, 34, thinks “simple matching underwear is really sexy, and they can get kinky paired with school-girl socks.”

Men also have color and fabric preferences (who would have known?). Martin, 28, thinks that bright colors like red are the way to go because 'sexy-slutty is good' – except when the red is satin. Tom, 32, agrees, saying that satin is tacky underwear. All the men in our survey choose black as the universal sexy color – especially when it’s sheer mesh

Underwear in the trash bin

Do you still have boy-shorts in your underwear drawer? Throw them away. Brian, 29, thinks they scream BORING. While you’re already at it, throw out your big knickers. These are the universal passion killers – unless you like reminding men of their mothers. And since you’re already on an underwear purging spree, dump the bumpy bras too. They are total turn-offs.
